Der Landkreis Celle strebt eine Reduzierung des Einsatzes fossiler Energieträger zugunsten der Nutzung CO2-armer Energien an. In Zukunft sollen die Gebäude Trift 24 - 30 und Speicherstraße 2, die sich auf dem Grundstück befinden aus einem Erdwärmesondenfeld versorgt werden. Die Wärmeversorgung erfolgt dabei mittels einer Sole-Wasser-Wärmepumpenanlage.
Im Rahmen der Erstellung des Erdwärmesondenfeldes werden zwei zuvor als Testbohrungen erstellte Erdwärmesonden in das Sondenfeld hydraulisch eingebunden.
